In June 1968 Unity Bank was conceived by John T. Hayden, a Black graduate of Harvard Business School and organized with the late Donald E. Sneed, Chairman and President, Marvin E. Gilmore, Vice President, and C. Bernard Fulp, Assistant Vice President and Chief Loan Officer. Mr. Fulp, who previously worked at two large banks in Boston wanted to make a difference.. This group of men of color joined forces to create Unity Bank and Trust that began the legacy for housing equality and inclusion in the Boston housing market.

PURPOSE

BROCIP is a non-profit organization that is committed to sharpening the leadership skills and personal development of men of color in the pharmaceutical industry and providing global awareness of our contributions 

VISION

To shift the paradigm and increase global awareness that men of color are available, prepared, and capable to lead in all sectors of the pharmaceutical industry

MISSION

To empower, network, mentor, and sponsor professional men of color at all ages in order to reach their highest potential and further the organizational goals in which they are aligned

PILLARS & DIRECTIVES

Managing and Leading in Pharmaceutical Industry

Provide professional and personal development training to strengthen individual performance, accountability, authenticity, innovation, and emotional intelligence to ultimately to elevate leadership skills for respective aligned organizational success.

Networking, Navigating, and Self Promotion within Pharmaceutical Industry

  • Connect Young professional men of color to peers and leaders to allow for wisdom to be passed along, insights to be shared, and provide the opportunity for mentoring and sponsorship.
  • Expand Mid-Level Professionals network beyond their aligned organizations.

 

Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Industry

  • Introduce high school and college men of color to all sectors pharma industry.
  • Increase exposure, education, and information to young professionals of the breadth of opportunities within the industry.

Support Pillars
Community Village

  • Partner with organizations that similarly support the development of people of color and diverse backgrounds to impact overall healthcare disparities.
  • Create initiatives that address those healthcare disparities and increase awareness in diseases that disproportionately affect the Brothers of the Village.  i.e.  Mental Health, Violence, Prostate Cancer, Colon Cancer.
